Workplace CSA Program

Kentucky Lottery is offering a workplace CSA (community supported agriculture) pick-up with Barr Farms for the 2024 growing season. Employees interested in signing up for a bi-weekly or weekly vegetable or meat share can select the Kentucky Lottery pickup to easily access certified organic produce and pasture-raised meats.

Read below for an overview of CSA (community supported agriculture), the farm's CSA share offerings, and how to sign up for a share. If you are familiar with Barr Farms' CSA program, select the "sign up for a CSA share" button below to go directly to the farm's website.

What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?

A local food subscription where members receive regular deliveries of seasonal produce (vegetables and some fruits) or meats for 24 weeks during the main growing season (May - October).

A model of buying food focused on building community. A participant pays for a share in advance and becomes an important part of the farm for the whole season.

A farm box or basket of in-season items grown by Kentucky farmers. The items in a share are harvested at their peak ripeness to maximize their flavor and quality.

What are the Benefits of CSA?

  • Easy access to healthy fresh food and the opportunity to try new foods.

  • Convenience--pick up your share at work or on the way home.

  • Know the farmer who grows your food. Receive regular newsletters and seasonal recipes.

  • Enjoy the health benefits of increasing vegetable consumption throughout the season.

  • Keep more food dollars local.

  • Access to local and organic produce.
