What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?

A local food subscription where members receive regular deliveries of seasonal produce (vegetables and some fruits) or meats for 24 weeks during the main growing season (May - October).

A model of buying food focused on building community. A participant pays for a share in advance and becomes an important part of the farm for the whole season.

A farm box or basket of in-season items grown by Kentucky farmers. The items in a share are harvested at their peak ripeness to maximize their flavor and quality.

What are the Benefits of CSA?

-
Easy access to local fresh food and the opportunity to try new foods.
-
Convenience--pick up your share at work or on the way home.
-
Know the farmer who grows your food. Receive regular newsletters and seasonal recipes.
-
Enjoy the health benefits of increasing vegetable consumption throughout the season.
-
Support sustainable farming practices that promote soil health and improve biodiversity.
-
Invest more food dollars to support a strong Kentucky food system.
